Christmas day structure fire for yours truly ignited December 25th 2025 at 2h pm only to last an entire day before a building was demolished. SIM firefighters responded on Briand Street south of St-Patrick Street in the Southwest borough of Montréal, Québec, Canada and observed smoke on arrival at a 2 story industrial vacant building. A second alarm was struck shortly after and crews setup hoses and aerial ladders to conduct a defensive attack due to unsafe unknown conditions indoors. Scene footage starts at 30 minute duration of intervention and spans an hour during which flames erupted after gaining oxygen from open windows and broken doors. Extreme cold temperature are felt in all Southern Québec these days and crews battled this blaze in frigid -10C (14F) created several extra challenges for firefighters like frozen and inoperable hydraulic equipment, frozen water hoses and danger of hypothermia to name a few.
