Roussillon region emergency crews along with several mutual aid departments were deployed to a nasty fire last night at a battery recycling facility in Sainte-Catherine, Québec, Canada a small municipality on the south shore of Montréal. Hazardous fumes emanating from the site forced crews to don N95 masks while battling the fire as well as for all adjacent personnel. Overhead POV footage filmed from a drone in flight that doesn't require to wear an N95 offers a new and safer aerial vantage point onto the fire. Bird's eye view imagery shows flames burning in the interior of the dangerous content structure on the east side of the site. Firefighters can be seen operating ladders and hoses in a defensive strategy to prevent potential injuries when entering such a building. Initial images in the compilation shows LaPrairie fire apparatuses rushing in direction of the fire driving westbound on Route 132 a road separating St-Constant from Ste-Catherine in the thick of a foggy winter mist. On scene multiple firetrucks can be seen parked in the vicinity of Terrapure Environment, an industrial plant used for the waste management of products. Flames are seen emanating from the inside of one of the section of the large surface structure which firefighters extinguished using a variety of equipment like an aerial ladder. Despite the challenging factors of this operation no occupant of the building or crew members were injured.
