At 5h30 pm Thursday afternoon a Boeing B737 from the company Westjet on route to Calgary, Alberta returned to the departure point and landed safely in Toronto, Ontario. Scanner radios from the Mississauga fire department reports their units on route to assist Pearson Airport fire crews as it is per normal procedure during emergency landings. Reports transmitted to firefighters on route were that the airplane with 62 souls on board had experienced the loss of one of the two engines, meaning that the aircraft was only flying with the power provided by one engine perhaps after a failure of the other. The Boeing B737 Max 8 that has a less than reputable history had some of their units crash in recent years due to lack of training from some of the companies that operated them.
