Tuesday morning December 3rd 2024 and a major Greater Montréal highway has been shut down in the western direction following an accident. No serious injuries were reported concerning the driver of the heavy flat bed transport truck but a significant slow down is in effect for the region. Highway 30 is currently closed for all westbound traffic between the 930 and the 730 interchange. Aerial footage offers an overview of the scene and helps comprehend how traffic is managed and diverted as efficiently as possible. Since no death or criminal investigation is requested, crews are using as much clear roadway to help traffic move away from the site of the crash. A large load of wooden panels can be seen spread on the ground and a two portion flatbed tractor trailer rests in the median in a jackknife position. Commute is affected as the critical artery will be blocked for a portion of the day today while cleanup and tow truck employees work to free the zone.
