At 2h am yesterday morning fire tore through a three story residential apartment building at the corner of Ste-Catherine Street and Abbott Avenue in Montréal, Canada. This second 10-07 of the night for Montréal fire crews from the SIM was upgraded to a 10-12 meaning a second alarm. Firefighters struggled with heavy smoke and flames raging out of the roof portion of the vacant structure. Dozens of fire crews applied water from all sides including adjacent roofs, from aerial ladders and from ground sources to extinguish the blaze until the early morning hours.
