At 6h30 pm last night a violent man who threatened people in a Montréal, Canada neighborhood faced numerous police and emergency personnel in a hour-long standoff. The incident began when the man initiated threats towards other residents of the same house at the corner in D.D.O. in the West Island part of Montréal. After exiting the property, these other people remained in safety while police started negotiating with the suspect that kept uttering threats towards law officers. The man threw objects out of the house windows and eventually threw the home owner's dog out the window as well. The pet was injured and assessed by firefighters at the scene and is expected to make a recovery that will allow it to return to that home. No other people or pets have been harmed during this intervention. A police bomb truck Freightliner from the GTI number 73-31 was spotted at the scene where other full tactical uniform officers intervened. This rarely used vehicle is deployed for serious incidents involving the possibility of explosive devices as seen at mark 22:45 of this incident video: https://youtu.be/XqMHXLD24QA
