At 2:30 pm yesterday Sunday January 22nd 2023 a fire in the wheel compartment of a fuel tanker transport truck caused the closure of eastbound Highway 40 in Montréal, Québec, Canada. A complete shutdown of all eastbound lanes came in effect quickly after the start of the intervention near the 15 interchange while SIM fire crews rushed to the scene. No one was injured in this incident that left traffic paralyzed for most of the day's remaining hours.
