At 10h am yesterday a freight train crashed into an immobilized car on a railway at the corner of 116 Road and Millenaire Blvd in St-Basile-le-Grand. The driver of the automobile got his vehicle stuck at the railroad crossing before a CN train rammed it and carried over a distance. Heavy damage could be seen on the sedan car that stood no chance when the much larger wagons struck, sending the car down a grassy embankment. No injuries were fortunately reported and police secured the intersection for the duration of the vehicle wreck recovery.
