Monday morning 3h am SIM got a call for a fire at a vacant building that used to be a print shop at 4501 St-Jacques Street in the South-West neighborhood of Montréal, Québec, Canada. Upon arrival crews spotted smoke pouring out of all window frames of the upper floor and engaged right from the beginning in a defensive method to fight the fire. The building having been closed down for over 5 years could represent a danger for people moving inside due to lack of recent inspection and not having any live reports from inside the structure. Firefighters set up several hoses, two 3 inches to drown the interior of the building from all sides using aerial ladders and personnel on the ground. The complicated intervention lasted for numerous hours as crews also prevented an attached garage at the rear section of the site from catching on fire too. The old printing store called "Imprimerie Vaillancourt" is located in the South-West part of the metropolis and is believed to have closed down in 2019.
