At noon yesterday construction workers escaped uninjured after the house they were working on collapsed in Toronto, Canada. The incident had all emergency crews dispatched and mobilized at the intersection of 13th Street and Morrison Street in Etobicoke to assess damage and potential casualties. Nearby houses were evacuated in the immediate moment after the dramatic incident at the one story home under renovation. Later on in the early evening, demolition crews used large heavy machinery to terminate the project and bring the remaining standing part of the building to a flat. Firefighters assisted demo people by putting water on the debris while a CAT 330C excavator mounted with a claw bucket that tore through the roof and walls. The house was deemed a total loss and no injuries were reported.
