Montréal: Air quality index update in second largest city of the country 6-5-2023

Current elevated vantage point view at 4h pm at the corner of St-Denis Street and René-Lévesque Boulevard in Montréal, Québec, Canada where smoke has started drifting south from multiple wildfires burning some few hundreds of kilometers north of Montréal. A lower visibility than usual can be felt in the Québec metropolis as buildings in the distance disappear behind the smoke particles. Following a press conference by Premier François Legault, it was revealed that the early wildfire season in Québec has already broken wildfire records in what could be a catastrophic summer.
